Late in his life, the renowned psychiatrist and hypnosis pioneer Dr. Milton Erickson gave a series seminars to select psychiatrists, scholars and therapists interested in what made his work so incredibly effective. In these two week long seminars Erickson did not instruct them. He told stories. Using indirect communication, subtle trance work, metaphor, and his many other methods, he related his cases in ways that modeled a new form of unconscious communication for those attending.
